Melissa J. Westendorf, JD, Ph.D.

Dr. Westendorf is a clinical and forensic psychologist. Her education and experience allow her to have a unique understanding with how legal issues and mental health problems affect clients. Her services include criminal forensic evaluation, including but not limited to sex offender risk assessments and treatment, competence evaluations, sentencing evaluations, and general psychological evaluations for court purposes. In addition, she conducts civil forensic evaluations in the area of mental health commitments and guardianship proceedings. Lastly, she provides psychological evaluations and specialized individual and group therapy for clients with anger issues, sexual dysfunctions, and legal problems.

Dr. Melissa Westendorf is the co-founder of the Technology Wellness Center. She is a proactive psychologist and educator dedicated to assisting parents, children, adolescents, and adults navigate and understand the complexities of technology use and the impact of technology use on our brains, emotions, and interpersonal relationships. Dr. Westendorf is a frequent speaker at schools, parent organizations, professional organizations, and business and community groups, offering preventative tools and resources that teach others how to manage their technology use in a healthy manner. She has been appointed as an expert in high profile legal cases, featuring the psychological ramifications of technology use. Her expertise has been relied upon in a wide variety of articles, podcasts, radio segments, and television programming. She has been featured on NPR and ABC’s 20/20. She is a regular contributor to The Morning Blend, on TMJ4.

Dr. Westendorf is a member of several legal and psychological organizations and is a past board member of the Psychology Examining Board for the State of Wisconsin.
